A lovely newsletter, Cassandra. I've only done Qigong on YT or maybe a one off class. It is enjoyable. But yoga is my daily jam. My husband loves doing walking meditations. It sounds like you found something really nourishing for you in February.
Happy birthday! Just found your post (thanks substack algorithm!) and am glad I did. Will make sure I pick up this memoir. And as a huge fan of Ann of Green Gables - I am so excited to hear this news, thanks for sharing it!
Happy birthday, Cassandra!! It sounds like it was a lovely day! That memoir also sounds really interesting. I can totally understand how it was an emotional read. I love the question you're asking about whether or not being born different means you're not whole. Society has sure tried its hardest to make us believe that, hasn't it?
Yes, the author did such a great job of bringing attention to those kinds of questions. It's so important to take a closer look at how we've all been conditioned to think something is "acceptable" or "right" when it comes to bodies.
Happy birthday! Thank you for the book recommendation! I haven't started any new hobbies this year, just trying to connect more with friends doing old ones. We've been meeting to play pickleball and board games fairly regularly this year.
I'm trying to find out if I have a favorite by playing a new game each month. This month, we played Azul, which was pretty fun! What is your favorite 2-player game?
I've been slow-reading and annotating (working on Pride and Prejudice currently, and also just finished Anne of Green Gables!) and making zines and collages. The reading isn't exactly new, but slowing down with it and taking the time to add tabs and marginalia has been so fun. And I'm new to both zines and collages, and really love having something low-stakes to do with my hands.
Love this! As you probably know, I'm a huge fan of both of those books! 😂
Someone in my city recently started a Collage Club! It's fun to chat with other people as you do it and get inspiration, too. I've also been pondering starting a junk journal this year. 🤔
I added a couple collages to my Hobonichi weeks planner (which I'm using as a memory keeper rather than a planner) and am looking forward to doing more. The back section is for commonplacing and as I have the energy I'm adding stickers and fun lettering and whatnot.

Thanks Lani! I'm glad you've got your yoga. ☺️ It's so important to have these practices that nourish us!

Thank you!
Yes, very exciting news! No matter how many adaptations of the book there are, Megan Follows will always be Anne to me. 😊

Thanks Lauren! 😊

I love board games! My husband and I have a pretty decent collection of 2-player games. Do you have a favourite when playing with friends?

Love Azul! I really like Carcassonne which can be played with 2 or more. And Fox in the Forest is a great two-player card game that's easy to learn!

Wow, this sounds like it will be such a fun notebook to look back on down the road! And lots of fun in the process, too.
